Proactive messages

Proactive chat that helps, not interrupts

When a shopper seems to hesitate, Dispatch shows one short message above the chat launcher. Tapping it opens the chat with that message as the opener, answered by an assistant that knows your catalog, policies and orders.

Four moments to help Live

Turn on the ones that fit your store, set the timing, and edit each message.

Lingering on a product

A shopper stays on a product page for a while (30 seconds by default, adjustable). Default message: "Questions about {product}? I can help with sizing, materials or shipping."

Browsing with an empty cart

A shopper has looked at several products (3 by default) and added nothing. Default message: "Looking for something specific? Tell me what you need and I'll find it."

Waiting in the cart

A shopper sits on the cart page (40 seconds by default). Default message: "Any questions before you check out? I can help with shipping, returns or sizing."

Exit intent (desktop)

The pointer heads for the tab bar. Off by default. Default message: "Before you go, can I help you find anything or answer a question?"

Built-in restraint

One per visit

A shopper sees at most one proactive message per visit, and only if they accept analytics cookies.

Never mid-conversation

No messages while a shopper is already chatting.

Dismiss means quiet

After a dismiss, no proactive messages for a day.

See what it does

The Grow sales page in Dispatch has a live preview of each message and 30-day counts: shown, opened, dismissed, and conversations started, per trigger. Counts only, no shopper data.

Questions

When does a proactive message appear?

When a shopper lingers on a product page, has browsed several products with nothing in the cart, waits on the cart page, or (on desktop, if you turn it on) moves to leave. You choose which triggers are on and how long each waits. Only time the page is actually visible counts.

Will it annoy shoppers?

It's built not to: a shopper sees at most one proactive message per visit, never while they're already in a conversation, and none for a day after they dismiss one.

Can I change the messages?

Yes. Each trigger has its own message, up to 160 characters, and {product} is replaced with the product's name. The Grow sales page in Dispatch shows a live preview.

How do I know if it's working?

The Grow sales page shows, for the last 30 days, how many proactive messages were shown, opened and dismissed per trigger, and how many conversations each one started. Only counts are recorded, no shopper data.

Is it on by default?

No. Proactive messages stay off until you turn them on.

Will messages offer discounts?

Not today. Guarded discount offers (single-use, expiring codes within your rules) are coming soon; the AI never invents offers.
